Poland welcomed into Visa Wavier Program

November 6, 2019 it was announced by Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin K. McAleenan, in coordination with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, that on November 11, 2019, citizens and nationals of Poland will be able to apply to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days without obtaining a U.S. visa. 



Under the Visa Waiver Program, citizens and nationals of Poland will be able to apply online for authorization to travel to the United States through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). These authorizations are valid for two years. Travelers with B1/B2 visas should continue to use their visa for travel to the United States. While DHS will begin accepting applications on November 11th, the department reminds first-time ESTA applicants that it may take up to 72 hours for processing. Poland will be the 39th member of the program.

Gang round-up nets 1,133

#Project Shadowfire was a five-week operation by U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), that ended on March 21, 2016.  They targeted much of their efforts in areas of Los Angeles, San Juan, Atlanta, San Francisco, Houston, and El Paso, they arrested 1,133 criminal gang members that were affiliated with gangs like MS-13, Sureños, Norteños, Bloods and several prison-based gangs.  Most were U. S. citizens and 239 were foreign nationals from 13 countries in Central America, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean.  Agents seized 150 firearms, more than 20 kilograms of narcotics and more than $70,000 in U. S currency during the round-up.
