Veto on Keystone XL Pipeline

The National Association of Manufacturers today joined with the Laborers’ International Union of North America to express their disappointment with the vetoing of the #Keystone Pipeline and urged Obama to at least redeem himself by approving the project’s permit as soon as possible. The #veto is looked at as another missed opportunity by the Administration. Despite the fact that the U. S. Department of State showed in its lengthy report that the pipeline is environmentally safe, would of strengthened U. S. energy security, added thousands of jobs and would of added billions in new private spending; Obama for his own political reasons decided to listen to his special interest groups in and out of the White House.

The Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act (S. 1), has been proven to hold strong bipartisan support with the Senate vote of 62-36 and the House vote of 270-152. But instead of signing a bill that could put people to work, he veto's it for his own political reasons. It is said that the pipeline would provide 42,000 jobs for two years – even if it is only two years of work - that would give a good foot up for any one who wants to get into the trade or needs a new start at a good wage, it could help an American family get back on the feet or help them pay for Obamacare, is this how Obama shows he is working to help the middle class? And what about he's statement on how he want to work with Congress? A bill was put on his desk approve by both the House and the Senate, and he veto's it behind closed doors without even reading it because he made up his mind before the bill was even finished.

What's the hold up on signing Keystone Pipeline bill?

Obama's insisting to veto the Keystone Pipeline only proves that he does not care about middle class people, does not care about providing jobs so people can get off the welfare roll. His environmental issue on the project has been disproved by the State Departments impact study which can only mean it does not fit his political agenda or he is looking out for his rich friends and lobbyists. The Keystone Pipeline bill is supported by legislators on both side of the aisle, if after six years they found common ground to pass it, what reason does he have not to sign it?

We all know that the unemployment numbers are not real and there are a lot of

U. S. citizens who are waiting for a full time job with good pay, so what is he waiting for? Not only will this project provide thousands of construction jobs as it is being built but it is expected to create manufacturing jobs and establish a reliable supply of energy lessening our reliance on foreign oil.
